For more than a century, the animated film has given movement and form to man's inner most thoughts.
Fears, hopes and dreams have been granted a virtual life, allowing millions of viewers the chance to empathise and ponder on what had previously been the private thoughts of single individuals.
Animation has given ordinary people access to a rich source of thinking, which is both profound and revolutionary. It deals with ideas that challenge, support and motivate each of us within the framework of our daily lives.
Beyond the creation of virtual worlds, which help us deal with an understanding of our place in the universe, animation has become a most beautiful artform. This artform suprisingly still remains vastly misunderstood, even after a century.
Such animation masterpieces as walt Disney's "Fantasia" easily equal or even surpass the brilliance of the greatest of the Renaissance art masterpieces, in there execution and majesty.
As with all fine art, today many collectors prize the artworks, which have been produced during the process of making animated films.
It is with a deep respect and Love for the animation artform that Animation Utopia has been created.
The animation art works featured within Animation Utopia are from the privated collection of Geoffrey Clifton. the works have been collected since April 1992.

アニメーションユートピア　/　そのアイディアと哲学

百年以上の間、アニメーションフィルムは人の心のなかの思いを動きと実際の形として表現してきました。

恐ろしさ、希望、そして夢が存在する仮想世界は沢山の観客に共感を呼んできたともに、自分がもってきた考え方について考えてみる機会を与えてきました。それに、アニメーションは普通の人々が豊かな考えの種に触れるチャンスを提供してきました。

仮想世界の創造物としての意味を越えて、アニメーションは一番美しい芸術作品の一つとして認められてきまが、以外にも、この芸術形式はまだ非常に低評価される傾向があります。

最高の傑作であるwalt Disney社の "Fantasia"は Renaissance 時代の傑作な芸術品の卓越さと同じように、あるいはそれを凌げぐものに思われています。

他の優れる芸術作品のように、多くのコレクターたちは、アニメーションが作られる全過程のなかで生み出された芸術品すべてを大事にしています。

芸術としてのアニメーションに対する深い尊敬心と愛情をもって、アニメーションユートピアは作られています。アニメーションユートピアのなかで掲載されるものすべては、 Geoffrey Cliftonが1992年4月から収集してきたコレッショんです。
